ACS has two important uses.
- Removes thin layers of tarry or third degree glazed creosote
- Prevents future creosote buildup
ACS is highly effective at controlling creosote and soot and reducing pellet ash. A daily application to the fuel during the heating season helps maintain the efficiency and safety of a woodburning, pellet, or coal appliance between sweepings. ACS is a nontoxic, noncorrosive, nonflammable, water-based catalytic formula and is safe for stoves with catalytic combustors. It also helps prevent accumulation of excess ash and clogging in pellet appliances. Just spray the fire chamber and lightly mist the pellets in the hopper.
